Better quality wheat and soybeans in North Dakota

Wheat (2a) (2) PictureDuane Tempas has farmed 2,000 acres in Litchville, North Dakota for more than two decades.  After learning about Monty’s at the Big Iron Farm Show in Fargo a few years ago, he decided to try some products on his spring wheat and soybean crops.

“I’m always looking for something new,” he said.   “I use traditional fertilizers and I found that I could put more down but I wasn’t getting higher yields, so I started looking at alternatives. I looked at different ideas and I use all liquids, so Monty’s products made sense.”

Tempas uses Monty’s Liquid Carbon, Nanobind, 4-15-12 and Agri-Sweet products.

He applies Nanobind in the spring when applying his starter formula, which includes 4-15-12 and AgriSweet products.

“I started out buying 2.5 gallons of products and now I only buy totes,” said Tempas.

Since using Monty’s, Tempas has, “seen better quality. The weights went up and the protein of the wheat has gone up as well. “

He applies Monty’s Liquid Carbon in the fall, with some Agri-Sweet added in, to feed biological life in the soil.

Tempas said he tried a competitor’s carbon product and found that Monty’s Liquid Carbon stays in solution whereas the other product did not and caused clogs.

“I don’t have any trouble with it mixing,” Tempas said of Monty’s Liquid Carbon. “The low volume makes it easy to apply and keeps passes on the field down.”
