Test Results - Higher Yields, Higher Profits for Cucumbers

Trial Results From Mexico Show Higher Yields, Higher Profits For Cucumber Growers

(Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico)  Following on his successful trials with tomatoes in the winter of 2005-2006, Carlos Soto of Bio-Safe is continuing to press the limits of Mexican agriculture by utilizing new technologies.  This season his focus has been on four replicated trials of cucumbers grown in a .9 hectare greenhouse.  For Soto, and for the distributors of Monty’s Liquid Fertilizer – Monty’s Mexico, the latest trials have been just as successful.  By the time harvest was complete plants treated with the Monty’s Fertility program were 19% more productive than the traditionally grown check, or ‘witness’ plots.

Test Results - Tomatoes

Early Results From Mexico Show Promise For Region’s Tomato Crop

(Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico) In December of 2005, Bio-Safe of Mexico began their trial of a full Monty’s program on tomatoes.  The goal was to see how Monty’s Program compares against traditional tomato crops grown in the Culiacan, Sinaloa region of Mexico. The tomatoes were grown from seed in 338 cell trays then transplanted into the field where they would receive additional foliar applications.

On December the 9th the trial began as they treated the seed by soaking them in undiluted Monty’s 4-15-12 for 20 minutes.  At that point they were planted into cell trays and allowed to germinate under normal float tray conditions.

By January the 6th the seedlings had germinated and had produced enough leaf to receive their first foliar treatment of Monty’s 8-16-8.  The product was diluted by mixing 31.5 milliliters of 8-16-8 with 0.500 litres of water.  The mixture was then sprayed as a foliar application to the 338 tomato plants.

Monty's Wins at Cecilia, Kentucky Field Trials

Monty’s Liquid Fertilizer Outlasts a Drought and Other Products to Shine at Cecilia, Kentucky Field Trials.

The results are in, and Monty’s wins again.  Spurred on by interest in Monty’s line of products by his customers, the owner of Cecilia Farm Service requested that our products be tested head-to-head against one of his leading fertility products.  The data is in, and the results clearly give the advantage to Monty’s.

Allen Baugh of Cecilia conducted the studies in a randomized, replicated design under the eyes of the University of Kentucky’s CES.  The county agent for the region takes stock in the research conducted annually by Baugh Research Farms and uses it to make recommendations to area farmers.  Yields across the board were lower this year due to a season long drought and soaring temperatures.  However, from start to finish the soybean and corn plots treated with Monty’s surpassed those treated with the competing product and the control.  Even in plots where the margin of victory was narrower, Monty’s still provided the over-all advantage by proving a cost of production lower than that of the competition.  In this upcoming season, with fertility prices rising and land grant universities recommending lower application rates of traditional fertilizers.  The message at Monty’s has never changed:  Test your soils. Reduce granular applications when possible. Protect your yield and your profits by adding Monty’s Fertility Products to your current conventional program.
