Monty’s Vice President of Corporate Compliance elected to the Humic Products Trade Association Board of Directors

David ChinnMonty’s Plant Food Company has announced that its Vice President of Corporate Compliance, David Chinn, has been named an At Large Board Member of the Humic Products Trade Association (HPTA). This organization’s purpose is to promote commercial trade of humic products through advocacy.

HPTA was formed in 2010 by the representatives of humic manufacturers, marketers and scientists. Within four months of its founding date, the organization contracted with EarthFax Engineering to assist in developing standardized definitions and analyses for humic and fulvic acids. These standard definitions and analyses were accepted by the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials at its February 2015 Annual Meeting.

Today, the type of advocacy done by HPTA comes naturally to Mr. Chinn, as he spent more than 20 years of practicing business and consumer law in Louisville, Kentucky before joining the Monty’s Plant Food team in 2008.

logo“I am looking forward to working with HPTA as the organization now seeks adoption of this new standard by both industry and the regulatory community,” says Chinn. “With the growth of our industry, it’s exciting to be on the forefront of establishing a benchmark in which humic products are judged.”

Chinn also represents Monty’s in many other organizations including the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials, the Association of Southern Feed, Fertilizer and Pesticide Control Officials and the Kentucky Agriculture Council.
